Privacy Policy — The Long Game: Golfer's Story
Last updated: 5 September 2026
The Long Game is made by Avoriq. This policy covers the iOS app The Long Game: Golfer's Story.
The short version
Your career is saved on your phone and nowhere else. There is no account, no login, and no server holding your game. We do not know who you are, and we have no way to find out.
Two third parties receive limited data: Google AdMob, which serves the adverts in the free version, and Aptabase, which counts anonymous product-usage events. Neither receives your name or anything you typed.
What stays on your device
- Your career — your golfer, their name, stats, money, results, trophies and settings. Saved locally. It is never uploaded, and we cannot read it, restore it, or transfer it to a new phone.
- Crash reports. If the game crashes, it records what it was doing so the report can be read back inside the app's own diagnostics. This never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
The name you type for your golfer is part of your local save. It is not transmitted anywhere.
What is sent, and to whom
Google AdMob — advertising. The free version shows an occasional full-screen advert between weeks of your career. AdMob receives a device advertising identifier and standard ad-request data, and uses it to serve and measure adverts. We request non-personalised adverts, but the SDK remains tracking-capable, which is why iOS asks your permission before it runs. If you decline, the game works exactly the same and still shows adverts.

Aptabase — anonymous product analytics. So we can tell which parts of the game people reach. It uses no cookie, no device fingerprint, no persistent identifier and no advertising ID, and every value sent is a bounded category rather than a measurement of you. Session length is reported as a range such as "30-60 minutes" rather than a timestamp, and a practice hole reports "under, level or over" rather than your score — both deliberate, because enough precise timestamps identify a person and a stroke count is a skill fingerprint.
Aptabase's policy: https://aptabase.com/legal/privacy
Apple — purchases. If you buy the Pro unlock, Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details. The app stores a single true/false value recording that you own it.
What is never collected
No name, email address or account. No contacts, photos, messages, location, health or fitness data. No microphone or camera access. No recordings. No cross-app tracking by us, and no sale of data to anyone — the app has no mechanism to do either.
Adverts, and paying to remove them
Pro is a one-off purchase that removes adverts permanently. It is not a subscription. Buying it means no advert is ever requested, so AdMob stops receiving anything at all.
Nothing in the game that affects how you play has ever been for sale, and there are no adverts you can watch in exchange for an in-game advantage.
Children
The game is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Your choices
- Adverts: decline the tracking prompt, or buy Pro to stop ad requests entirely. iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking also controls this.
- Your save: deleting the app deletes your career and every local record with it. There is no copy anywhere else.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
